Ceres , founded in 1983, is a non-profit alternative center dedicated to the promotion of contemporary
artists, especially those artists who are underserved
by the current art world structure. Located in Chelsea,
the gallery has 2000+ sq ft of gallery space at a premier
location in a destination building. Our organization
serves as a supportive base for a diversity of aesthetic,
artistic and political views. The heart of our work is
the exhibition season consisting of solo exhibitions and
curated group shows as well as our diverse programming
including poetry, dance, music, film, etc. We believe the
arts provide an important social service and that there is
an inherent power in art to enrich the quality and depth
of our lives and the world in general.
