Eligibility
Open to all artists working in any media and currently residing in the U.S. We expect to review recent work only.

Notification
Accepted work only via email and phone.

Accepted Work
Ceres will exercise the right to reject any work that does not accurately represent the submitted image.

Shipping
Artist will be responsible for shipping both ways. Details will be provided upon acceptance.

Fees Non-refundable fee of $40 for up to 3 images on CD, $5 for each additional image with no limit.

For sculptors only: two views of each work (6 images) permitted with no additional fee. Make checks payable to Ceres.

CD's with jpgs formatted at hi rez no larger than 3M may also be submitted. Standard size CD's only. MARK images with Last name, first initial, image # .jpg.

Requirements Dimensions of work   (including frame) not to exceed 48” in width, 60” in height and 40” in depth.   Work may not weigh more than 100 lbs.   Plexiglas must be used on framed works.

Selected work should be delivered ready for hanging. Limited number of bases available for sculpture..

Sales Ceres encourages the sale of work. Ceres expects a contribution of 25% on all sales. Work must remain on exhibit until 6 p.m. of the last day of the exhibition.

Liability All possible care will be taken of the work but Ceres, its officers and agents will not bear liability for any loss or damage to any work while in transit to or from Ceres or while hanging in the gallery. It is advisable to provide your own insurance for art work.

Juror, Lowery Stokes Sims is Curator at the Museum of Arts and Design. Ms Sims was also the juror for our First National Juried Exhibition. Formerly the executive director and then president of The Studio Museum of Harlem, she also held curatorial positions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is a specialist in modern and contemporary artand is a noted expert on Asian, Latino, Native American and African American artists.

Ceres , founded in 1983, is a non-profit alternative center dedicated to the promotion of contemporary artists.

Now located in Chelsea, the gallery has 2000 square feet of gallery space at a premier Chelsea location in a destination building.

We serve as a supportive base for a diversity of artistic and political views. The heart of Ceres' work is the exhibition season consisting of solo exhibitions and curated group shows.

We believe that the arts provide an important social service and that there is an inherent power in art to enrich the quality and depth of our lives.
