Dare J. Boles

Dare Boles has been a professional artist for more than 25 years. During that time, she has participated in national, state, and local art organizations and exhibitions and has contributed to national publications. She has served in numerous positions with local art leagues, galleries and church committees. Dare Boles has produced fine art in pastels, oils and photography. She was introduced to the art of collage while attending a workshop in the summer of 1991. This new medium both excited and inspired her work like no other and she hasn’t looked back! Her collages have been shown in competitions across the United States, winning awards and recognition. In 2007, Dare’s work was selected by artist Judy Chicago to be included in the 20th annual Woman’s Work Show in Woodstock. Il. Dare’s work can be seen at the Uptown Gallery in Richmond, Va. Dare, as a member of the National Collage Society, decided to form an affiliate chapter in Virginia. That chapter was chartered in 2005 as the Virginia Collage Society. This endeavor has been successful and currently has 35 members. Dare has created works of art for civic projects. She developed a sculpture for the “Go Fish” project in Richmond in 2004. She most recently created a work of art on a violin for the Richmond Symphony’s “String Art” fund raiser.
